Mexico City back again!

Superb! Perfect plan! We took plane from Cancun to Mexico City yesterday (to save time: 2h by plane, 24h by bus, the same price - sic!) - we received three wodkas with orange juice 4 free, even though this was low cost airlines - sweet...
Back to DF, we went to buy some more souvenirs, and in the night we climb to 41 floor of the central skyscraper Torre Latino, to the Bar, I dont have to tell you what was the view...
Today last day ;( and the Antropology Museum to discover. We are flying at 21.00 so one more full day in Mexico - pinche guey - no mames ;)))

Playa del Carmen :/

A bit stuck here in Playa del Carmen - this place is nothing alse then easy way of spending money for easy tourists, especially from USA. Shops, bars, shops, restaurants, bars, souvenirs, boring shit! La playa is small and crowded with all beach infrastructure to pay for... ehhh
Although last couple days we spend in Tulum in perfect pure white send beach, a typical paradise view... Agnieszka did here first in life diving in coral reef ;) I'm jealous! I could not because of my tattoo, it can´t get in touch with sea water for one week or so. So no swimming for me too, but the sun, the scenery, the vibe to do nothing then relax, drink beer, watch waves and beautiful big blue sky was a thing...

Now Im feeling that the reality is coming to me. Last day in Yucatan peninsula tomorrow flight to Mexico and next day Europe...

To start from the beginning... after leaving San Cristobal de las Casas we took direction to Palenque we had to use two mini vans to take us there, when getting closer to our destiny I decided that we will step out from the van to see this huge waterfall - wow nice! 35m high, potent because the water from the mountains was gathering in the rivers so it was bigger then normal. Another highlight was that you can get behind the waterfall and see through it (well not really, there was to much water coming and the mist was everywhere) I felt like in Tomb Rider with all the scenery. Agnieszka said that maybe we could swim in there... hehe so we did I tried to swim in the river under the waterfall but it was too strong so I have climbed on some surrounding stones where the water was falling and yeahh perfect shower ;)) very energetic experience! From the waterfall went to the camping El Panchan very close to the Maya Palenque ruins, it was so late that we had to walk in the dark to find it a bit scary after what we experienced before with the knifes. After all we got to the nice place we rented cabañas - rooms in the jungle. Somehow we got to some party with 5 Czech girls which we meet earlier in San Cristobal, with local people jugglers and fire acrobat we went to dance and drink. Next day was simply great! We sneak in to the National Park (21peso saved) then we also sneak in to the Maya Palenque ruins (51peso saved yes I know that this is bad and stuff but it was adventure itself, jumping over or under fence, crossing jungle etc. ;) The ruins are just fantastic, imagine very old pyramids as you can see on the movie under, in the jungle with lots of figures all around the walls, paths, stairs, all of this in the jungle climat! Fantastic. I felt like Larry Croft ,) We even explore one part in the deep jungle where we have to cross one river and climb hills, to see forgotten piramide - to get there we stick to some small group of frenchs and to his eccentric guide - it was fun and we did not expect that... We left the are by the front door ;)
Couple days earlier in San Cristobal we stepped in to one restaurant where on the sides there where selling some artesanias - souvenirs and one of the people there was on French girl with her breast tattooed - nice one, good work - two traditional dragons on both sides, some maya style so I got the info where she got it...
So finally after descending to our camping we went to the place where this French girl had her tattoo done. It was very close to our cabañas, so we went there to talk to the girl - Olman tattoo studio. This was this, she just appear from her cottage like she would wait for me to come. Sanya invite us to sit, showed us her work, explaind that Olman it is not tattoo studio but some proyect of bringing the mayan culture to the world by conserving the signs, meaning, style to the people.... So we agree on details. The tattoo place super eco, natural in the jungle - perfect combination. As we settled the design I wanted to have and the time when we will have this done, we went for a walk to a Jungle we explore some waterfalls, and the jungle... wow! So that was almost it, by evening we went to drink couple beers and for last money we eat goood food - after whole what happened that day it was delicious... Next day was a bit crazy, we had to get to the city 5km away, walking but we had no money so we hitch-hiked, some federal police officer took us to the centre. I took money and we got back to Sanya and her husband, so after some changes in the project of my tattoo we started at 2pm, she finished at 8.30pm - almost 6h and the important thing for someone who is interested - 80% of the my tattoo was made manually without using machine - a bit painful I have to admit but 100% worth it :) The stress about whole situation was that we had a bus to Merida at 9pm. Imagine that Sanya was doing last correction to tattoo at 8.30pm so we had little money (i spend all on tattoo) so I had to go to ATM, a bit crazy but finally we got the bus and we were off from Palenque Chiapas... :)
Nice couple days...
Today we swam in some caves in cristal clear water and there was a big hole in the celling like 25 high so the sun was shining on the water and the birds was flying everywhere... ehhh holidays... now we are hitting to Tulum another ruins but this time on the Caribbean cost..

Mexico!

Tired but happy 8) long night in the bus, did not sleep well... Last days were crazy... I will tell you a bit more later OK? ;)

Starting to move our asses further north where the real jungle is and the temperature will not drop below 28C ;))

Hostel life

Woke up, went to shop for some continental products to make breakfast, it was great! Serials, banana, coffee, some chease and bread with tomatose - simple and big! Then switch to watch a movie - Alphabet Killer so so, now surfing net... some people around, one guy with tattoo all over his body is watching some catoons, couple from argentina just left - they probably living here fabricating souvnirs, colars, earings - you know this hippy style people, then some 3 italians a bit strange smokeing all day joints and drinking beer - I havent seen them living hostel for whole day, typical mish mash of people from all over the world - relaxed athmosphere. I like this place although our room looks like a bit like cave - but at least its cheap and we have internet and kitchen to use no charge!

San Cristobal de las Casas is the city where we are now, similar with ambient to Krakow, much smaller though but - the same crazy clubs, bars, coffee shops, a lot of shops with souvenirs - style. Good energy - high in mountains, fresh air, a bit cold, and a lot of people around, very turistic! Beautiful place to hang around...

View from our room at the beach, yeahh....

Hot

Really nice - we are on the beach now, big waves, hot hot weather around 33C, delicious food, no tourists and room with excellent view on the bay, ocean and waves high on the hill so there is a bit of climbing to get there. Cost - for 3 nights 360 peso which is 24 dollars, cheap!
Mazunte is very relaxed place with many hotels on the beach with hamacas hanging around the patios just at the edge of the beach. It is perfect place to relax, do nothing, drinking a beer, talk to some locals, and sleep long hours!
There are more Mexican tourists then foreigners, we went on the first day to the beach and we meet the same people from the Mountain, they invite us to the bar we had good time with music, joints, beers and smth more ;) the result was that I could not get to our room on the hill, we were stuck on the beach where there was no simple way out, dark, everything closed... ;) A bit scary and a bit funny, there also were dogs barking everywhere we wanted to go... Anyway we got back to our place finnaly after 2hours, believe me or not our room is 600 meters from the bar where we were partying and 2h to go back - this is smth ;)))
This is our last night here and next days we will go to the east to see some more ruins deep in the jungle but first we have to go to San Cristobal de las Casas - locals say that this is one of their magic places in Mexico, well after what we saw already - I believe them ;))

San Jose del Pacifico

Mountains 2725 mnpm jungle, magia, hippy hostel, sunset with the view on the long valley... the perfect place to find, if not really looking for it! First people we meet was two polish guys from Wawa haging around and looking for mushrooms atraction, in this tiny vilage of 500 people... Very nice couple days in the mountains indeed ;)

Today we are going to the beach! 35C as we were told, sounds nice ;)

2 knifes

This is true Mexico is dangerouse country! We were robbed by two bandits with knifes just in fortht day here! Not funny at all!
We just step a little from the bitten track and two nasty guys sorrounded us! Agnieszka lost her valet, he cut it off and took her wallet as well with my camera inside. Thei searched me trhough in side my underware to, unfortunately I had my big camaerawith me, so Ilost it but before that I recuperated memory card... one thing at least... I didnt gave them my passport but we havd to fight to get Agnieszkas credit card and passport back, fucking strees!!! But we got it, it was only source of money for Agnieszka so she made preety clear that they have to give the credit card back to her. Believe me this was tragicomic situation - three of us me and 2 banddits did not know why she is screeming so bad, askin them to give back the wallet, pretty desperate - imagine no money at 4th day of the trip. Agnieszka lost also some money I did not have any...
The moste important thing we were not hurt!
Dangerouse experience, we could not runaway, we could not attact them, we could not screem they had knifes remember? So that was the highlight yesterday. After comming back to hostel we got drunk with two bottels of tequila - to be honest it did not help much...

So for now no pictures... just the rest from my memory card.

We are lieaving this place today - Oaxaca is not for us.
Todaywe want to get to the place where the magic mushrooms grow, let see if we can pick up some of them ;)

PS we have learned - this was a bitter lesson

Keep visiting us who knows what can happened more ;) ofcourse only good things now

Jet lag

Another day...
Today we slept much better then yesterday althoug also with moscitos. yesterday their were bombarding me and this night Agnieszka was the victim of unsuccesful attacks! What does it means? She have this liquid to defend contra them but the moscitos were flying over her and disturbing her while sleeping while I was ignored... ;))

Mexic the city is super beautiful, specious, green, we can not see this 20mln people around at all. We travel spontaniously to the ends of metro lines changing radomely and can you imagine, at the end of lines there are big {local} bus stations to take people even further, this end line bus stations are like tousend times bigger then bus station in Krakow. Very busy day yesterday, we walked so much. We could take ride on bicycles for free but Miss Agnieszka did no take her passport... what a pity Miss Agnieszka ;) no problem just jokeing and after all. In the evening beer beer beer good one Indio or smth.

Well I can still feel the jet lag still living with one leg in Poland and one leg here a bit tired althoug is 9am.

Today direction Pyramide of the Sun and some ruines...

And... yes we are here Mexico city...
When landing we were flying over 30 min above the city - gigant ! Everything went smooth, trying to find place to stay with Lonely Planet is hopeless, this fucking book is loosing quality. The chepes hostel with 11 more people in the room would costa as 12 dollars per night and what we found?! The cool double room for 16 dollars for 2 nights, totally Mexican style folklor babe !
OK the moscitos and the time change didn´t help us to rest and we were at 6am local time (1pm Krakow) already walking on the streets...

So my plan is to wake up in the morning and buy flowers for my mother... after the breakfast and departure...

The day before departure...

Hi all,

I am still at work, answering some emails, cleaning mail box, still half an hour to GO...
… go for three weeks, a break far away from Poland...
Mexico... different air, different culture, no stress, colorful folklore and many kilometers to do…
I am happy to go although not yet very excited, probably tomorrow morning when me and Agnieszka will departure….

OK let me finish a couple thing here and after a gooood bye ;) dinner prepared by Agnieszka for some people….
